Improving physical balance, strength, and exercise adherence in community-dwelling older adults at risk of falling: a randomized controlled trial comparing combined community-based group and home exercise programs to home-based exercise alone
- Conditions
- This study conduct in volunteers age 65 years and older with fall riskelderly falls
- Registration Number
- TCTR20240704012
- Lead Sponsor
- Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI)
- Brief Summary
Our findings support the idea that a combined home-based and community-based group exercise program can enhance physical balance, strength, and adherence to a greater extent than a home-based exercise program alone in community-dwelling older adults at risk of falling. However, the home-based exercise program alone also resulted in positive outcomes, making it a viable alternative and an opportunity to expand access to fall prevention programs for this demographic.
