Inclusion Criteria
Parents of either sex
Parents of patients admitted at least one day before the scheduled surgical procedures
Parents able to comprehend and willing to participate
Exclusion Criteria
Parents with psychiatric diseases or mental retardation
Parents taking anti-anxiety, anti-depressant or sedative medications
Parentâ??s refusal to participate

Name Time Method 1. To determine the changes in anxiety level and need for information about anaesthesia and surgery among the parents at three different time points preoperatively;Timepoint: a.Evening before surgery, in the ward (T1) <br/ ><br>b.On the day of surgery, in the preoperative holding area (T2) <br/ ><br>c.After the child has been transferred inside the operating room (T3). <br/ ><br>
