1. Patients undergoing lower abdominal surgery
2. Patients with ASA status 1-2
3. Patients in the age group of 18-35 years
4. Patients who have given informed and written consent
1. Patients with spinal deformity
2. Patients with allergy to study drugs
3. patients with drug / alcohol abuse
4. Patients with BMI >29 kg/metre square
5. Patients with diabetes mellitus
6. Patients with raised intracranial pressure
7. Patients with local infection at the site of spinal anaesthesia
8. Patients with previous spinal surgery, if any
9. Patients on anticoagulants, with coagulopathies
10. Patients posted for ceasarean section
