简要总结
There was no significant difference in overall efficacy between focused extracorporeal shockwave therapy and steroid injections for moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. However, single-session fESWT demonstrated greater pain improvement at the 12th week compared to steroid injections, suggesting it may be a preferable option for patients concerned about steroid side effects.

入选标准
- •Inclusion criteria 1) Symptoms include numbness or pain in the palm of the hand, plus positive findings from Phalen's, Tinel's and Median compression's test 2) Patients diagnosed with moderate carpal tunnel syndrome by electrodiagnosis show a reduction in conduction velocity of both sensory and motor fibers of the median nerve and/or a reduction in SNAP amplitudes to lower than 50% of normal values. [4] 3) The patient is 18 years old and over. And 4) A new patient who has not been treated with a steroid injection or other treatments, such as ultrasound therapy.
排除标准
- •1) History of physical therapy treatment in the previous six months 2) Contraindications for fESWT such as pacemarker implantation, pregnancy 3) Refusal to participate in the study.
