Study Overview

Brief Summary

Desmopressin has been used to decreased the post biopsy bleeding complication. One RCT in patient with normal renal function has shown that desmopressin had reduced post kidney biopsy bleeding complication in normal functioning kidney. However, there is no prospective trial of desmopression on patient with reduced renal function. Hence we design this study to study the impact of desmopressin in reducing bleeding complication post kidney biopsy in patients with reduced renal function.

Inclusion Criteria

  • •eGFR LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 60ML/MIN PLATELET COUNT >1LACK NORMAL COAGULATION PROFILE BP<140/90.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •SOLITARY KIDNEY RENAL CELL CARCINOMA HYDRO/PYONEPHROSIS CONTRATED KIDNEY BILATERAL MORBID OBESITY >40KG/M2 POST RENAL TRANSPLANT SEVERSE NASAL CONGESTION,BLOCKAGE,ATROPHIC RHINITIS SERUM SODIUM<125mEq/L.

Outcomes

Primary Outcomes

INCIDENCE OF POST KIDNEY BIOPSY BLEEDING COMPLICATION (perirenal hematoma, gross hematuria, AV fistula formation, Blood transfusion, arterial embolization or death)

Time Frame: at 6 hrs and 24 hrs post biopsy

Secondary Outcomes

  • PREDICTOR OF BLEEDING COMPLICATION(AT 24 HR POST PROCEDURE)
