1. Age more than or equal 18 years
2. Out of hospital cardiac arrest
3. Sustained Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) - defined as 20 minutes with signs of circulation without the need for chest compressions.
4. Unconsciousness defined GCS < 8
5. Admitted in the medical intensive care unit or cardiac care unit within 24 h after ROSC
6. On ventilator with P0.1 available
1. On Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
2. Obvious or suspected pregnancy
3. Intracranial bleeding
4. Severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD)
