Inclusion Criteria
Patients of age 2 - 14 years, either sex, American society of anaesthesiologists (ASA) grade I and II posted for elective sub umbilical surgery under general anaesthesia were included in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
Exclusion criteria
•Age >14 years
•ASA grade III and IV.
•Any systemic disease that compromises any cardiovascular,
•respiratory or neurological function.
•History of upper and lower airway disease or infection.
•Coagulation disorders.
•Known allergy to the study drugs.
•History of sleep apnoea.
•The need for postoperative ventilation.
