Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a major public health concern in India, accounting for approximately 63% of all deaths in the country. Community Health Officers (CHOs) play a critical role in managing NCDs at the primary healthcare level, but many lack the knowledge and skills needed to effectively diagnose and manage these conditions. The proposed study aims to assess the impact of a Mobile Mind Mapping (3M) app on the knowledge and competency of CHOs in managing selected NCDs, including hypertension and diabetes. The study will also explore the acceptability, feasibility, and usability of the app among CHOs, providing valuable insights into potential barriers and facilitators to its implementation.

Overall, mobile mind mapping is a powerful tool that can help to bridge the gap in quality healthcare service delivery. By providing healthcare providers with a visual way to organize and understand complex healthcare information, mobile mind mapping can help to improve communication, decision-making, training, and collaboration, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for patients. Mobile mind mapping application will be a way forward for the Community Health Officers to provide expert guidance, help, indicators, recall or retrieving information, improving the self-cognitive level and critical thinking in their roles and responsibilities for which the Government has posted them in different Health and Wellness centres of Odisha to decrease the morbidity by providing effective and qualitative service to the clients and community.

The Mobile Mind Mapping (3M) application will be helpful resource to be used by the Community Health Officers in their practice with selected complex diseases, organize and integrate a client’s health information. One of the new educational strategies that play an important role in promoting active learning and problem solving skills is a mind mapping technique that stimulates creativity and thinking by using images, colours, communications, and structural representations of concepts.  Mind mapping is one of the visual mapping techniques that is used for displaying complex information visually. Now, the use of information and computer technology has enabled information mapping to be achieved with far greater ease.

  • Community Health Officers of both gender having age between 22 to 60 years present during the data collection period.

排除标准

  • Community Health Officers who are not willing and absent during data collection period.

Change in knowledge and competency of CHOs in managing NCDs (measured by pre- and post-intervention assessments)

时间窗: 15 days- 30 days and 3 months interval data will be collected.

次要结局

  • Acceptability, feasibility, & usability of the 3M app among CHOs(15 days- 30 days & 3 months interval data will be collected)
