Be physically independent; be 60 years or older; do not present dysfunctions that restrict the practice of physical exercises; not to use hormone therapy medications, lipid-lowering agents, hypoglycemic agents and anti-inflammatories; not be involved in regular physical activity / exercise programs (two or more times / week) for at least six months prior to the start of the study
To present resting blood pressure above 160/100 mmHg; history of anemia, cerebrovascular disease, acute myocardial infarction, orthopedic disorders that impede joint movement; deep venous thrombosis and cognitive dysfunction.

Name Time Method Increase in the strength of the lower limbs after 24 weeks of intervention, verified by the number of repetitions performed during 30 seconds in the sit and stand up test, from the observation of a variation of at least 3 repetitions in the pre and post intervention measurements .
