Inclusion Criteria

Adults with symptoms of chronic rhinitis, two or more symptoms of nasal blockage, rhinorrhea, sneeze or nasal itching for 1 hour or more and for two weeks or more; age equal or above 60 years old; monitored clinically in the departament of allergy and immunology of Hospital Universitário Antônio Pedro.

Exclusion Criteria

Primary or secondary immunodeficiency; mechanical obstruction of upper airways; respiratory infection in the last two weeks; impossible to perform spirometry before and after bronchodilator.

Primary Outcome Measures

Improvement in nasal patency of the elderly with rhinitis after two weeks of treatment assessed by the peak nasal inspiratory flow (PNIF). That is, increase of at least 30 L/min in the PNIF after two weeks of treatment.
