Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •People with dementia: Residents (or their representatives) of the participating long\-term care facilities; people with a clinically confirmed dementia diagnosis or third\-party assessment by nursing or care staff with the Dementia Screening Scale (DSS) score \= 3 points; being able to be interviewed; signed written informed consent; good or sufficiently corrected vision and hearing; good German language skills;
- •Nursing and care staff: Nursing professionals or caregivers who participate in the training and use the cognitive stimulation program in their daily work; among the nursing professionals, permanent employees who work in day and/or night care should be considered; the caregivers should be professionally trained persons, e.g. employees of the social service such as social pedagogues, social workers, gerontologists and additional caregivers according to SGB XI; good or sufficiently corrected vision and hearing; good German language skills;
- •Facility managers/nursing service managers: Management of an inpatient nursing facility in which the intervention is being piloted; position as (deputy) nursing service manager or facility manager; good or sufficiently corrected vision and hearing; good German language skills.
Exclusion Criteria
- •People with dementia: lack of dementia diagnosis; lack of ability to give consent; life\-threatening illnesses;
- •Nursing and care staff: less professionally trained staff as well as volunteers should not be considered; all other employees of the inpatient geriatric care facility;
- •Facility managers/nursing service managers: Outpatient and day\-care facilities; facilities for disabled persons (SGB IX).
