Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •All consecutive surgical patients with sepsis and septic shock due to sepsis criteria admitted to the surgical intensive care unit.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. patients that refused to study
  • •2\. patients that had pre\-existing systemic disease
  • •3\. patients that were significantly limiting life expectancy
  • •4\. patients that were transferred to tertiary care hospital
  • •5\. patients that were intolerance to protocol
