Evidence of abnormal parathyroid hormone secretion
chronic kidney disease stage 3b and 4

Exclusion Criteria

serum calcium greater than 2.60
serum phosphate greater than 2.40
presence of atrial fibrillation
pregnancy
current calcitriol therapy
