- Diabetes Mellitus
- Clinical signs indicative of macular edema

Exclusion Criteria

- Media opacities
- Hypermetropia more than S+5 diopters, or myopia more than S-8 dioptres
- Presence of other diseases that may influence the visual acuity
- Previous laser treatment
