This this study is a randomized control trial to study Comparing short term effect of Mulligan and Maitland Mobilization on Pain Range of Motion and Functional Disability in patients with Non-specific Low Back Pain.

Currently, no evidence establishes the superiority of one technique over the other in achieving optimal outcomes of short-term effects on Pain relief, Range of motion (ROM), and Functional Disability for patients with Non-specific Low back pain. Conducting a comparative study assessing short-term effects would provide greater precision in selecting the most appropriate technique based on individual patient presentations, optimizing the rehabilitation process and potentially accelerating patient recovery. Identifying the mobilization technique that provides optimal short-term pain relief can enhance patient adherence and improve overall rehabilitation outcomes in Non-specific Low back pain.

Hence, the need of this study is to determine the comparative Short-Term effects of Maitland PA glide mobilization and Mulligan’s Lumbar SNAGs in reducing pain, improving Range of Motion (ROM), and enhancing functionality in patients with Non-specific Low Back pain. In this study total 44 patients will be recruited in the age group of 18 to 45 years.

The Outcome Measures Used in this study are Visual Analog Scale, Modified Modified Schobers Test and Oswestry Disability Index.

There will be two groups group A and Group B.

Group A- Mulligans Lumbar SNAGS- The patient is positioned in four point kneeling position close to the edge of the treatment table with their feet over the edge. The therapist stands at the side of the treatment table facing the patient’s head. The technique involves specific hand contact- the stabilizing hand is wrapped around the patient’s abdomen while the mobilizing hands thinner eminence contacts. Under the target’s finest process. The Glide is applied in a cranially directed manner over the thinner eminence contact point while the patient simultaneously sits back towards their heels.

GROUP B- Maitland’s postero-anterior Glide mobilization to Lumbar spine- the patient is lying in prone position with arms by their side of the treatment table. The therapist stands at the side of the plinth facing the patient’s lumbar spine. The hand contact points involve the therapist’s thumbs being placed in direct contact with each other onto the target spinous process. This mobilization is performed using grade one to grade 4 oscillations.

Conventional physiotherapy-

Both the groups will be given conventional physiotherapy which includes several exercises for the lower back, including stretching. The exercises included in conventional physiotherapy are- cat and camel exercises, bridging, core activation, and core stability exercises. Along with exercises. With exercises, the patient is given stretching for the hamstrings, Piriforms and gluteus maximus muscles.

入选标准

  • Patients Suffering with sub-acute to chronic Non-specific Low Back Pain.
  • Visual Analog Scale of more than 4/10 Back Pain Increased with active Lumbar Flexion or Extension Movement.
  • Oswestry Disability Index Score of more than 20percent.

排除标准

  • Any Red Flags- (tumors, rheumatoid arthritis, severe osteoporosis, fractures, aortic aneurysms, TB spine) 2) Any contraindications to Manual therapy 3) Associated abnormality of bowel and bladder function, peripheral vascular disease, pregnancy and neuropathic pain.
  • Viscerogenic Back Pain with disorders of the kidney, pelvic viscera, and retroperitoneal tumors 5) Patient with PIVD of lumbar Spine, Sacroiliac joint dysfunction, sacroiliitis, Lumbar Spondylolisthesis, spinal instability, Lumbar Canal stenosis, and Spondyloarthropathies as Ankylosing Spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis.
