Patient should have a diagnosis of PHN with evident hyperalgesia and allodynia confined to mid thoracic and lower thoracic dermatomes
patient should have had pain for at least 12 weeks after healing of rash
Pain intensity =4 on 10cm visual analogue scale (VAS)
Patients willing to participate according to the protocol
Patients with history of neurological intervention for PHN.
Evidence of other sources of pain that may confound the diagnosis.
Known history of taking pregabalin or any other drug for the treatment of PHN in past 4 weeks.
Patients with past history of myocardial infarction, diabetes mellitus, pancreatitis and vasculitis.
Patients with recent history of surgery.
