Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\)Permanent day shift office secretaries
- •2\)full\-time desk\-based job
- •3\)not going on for any planned leave for more than 6 months or planning to shift the work
- •4\)self\-reported sitting time more than 6 hrs/day or at least 2 bouts of 60 minutes of uninterrupted sitting
- •5\)physically less active ( \<600 MET minutes/week) as determined through the International
- •Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ)
- •6\)The participants to be recruited in the SMART group must have the knowledge of handling a Smart Phone with an android version 4\.0 and above
- •7\)should be willing to undergo blood investigations \[fasting glucose (FG) and lipids]
- •8\)Should be willing to wear a triaxial accelerometer (Activpal 3TM,PAL technologies, Glasgow, UK) on the thigh for 7 days before the trial, 1st, 3rd and 6th month of the intervention
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\)any pre\-existing musculoskeletal injury/disorder
- •2\)pregnancy
- •3\)known coronary artery disease (CAD)
- •4\)unstable metabolic disorders
- •5\)recent surgeries
- •6\)acute systemic illness
- •7\)diabetes mellitus (diagnosed with a fasting glucose value of \>125 mg/dL)\[ ACSM 2008]
- •8\)psychological disorders/cognitive impairments
- •9\)currently taking medications such as cardiac depressants or stimulants)
- •10\)planning to quit or shift the job
