Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •\-Adult (≥ 18 years old)
- •\-Present with features of TN, based on current guidelines of the Headache Classification Committee of the International Headache Society (IHS)
Exclusion Criteria
- •\-Patients with painful trigeminal neuropathy (e.g. due to the growth of organic lesions or tumors)
- •\-Acute infectious disease within the previous three weeks
- •\-Past or present neurological, psychiatric, metabolic, cardiovascular, muscular, or chronic inflammatory disease
- •\-Smoking habits or alcohol consumption of more than 40 g/day
- •\-Medical conditions that required treatment with glucocorticoids, analgesics, or antidepressant drugs
- •\-Pregnancy or current breastfeeding.
