Any patient who required bilateral extractions of maxillary first or second
premolars indicated for orthodontic treatment under local anaesthesia.
1) Known or suspected allergies or sensitivities to sulfites, amide type local anesthetics or
any ingredients in the anesthetic solution.
2) Concomitant cardiac or neurological disease.
3) Pregnancy / lactation.
4) Concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants,
phenothiazine, vasodepressor drugs or ergot type oxytocic drugs.
5) Subjects who were on sedatives.
6) Subjects who had taken aspirin, acetaminophen, NSAIDS 24 hours prior to administration
of local anesthetic.
7) Inability to give Informed consent.
