Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Any patient who required bilateral extractions of maxillary first or second
  • premolars indicated for orthodontic treatment under local anaesthesia.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\) Known or suspected allergies or sensitivities to sulfites, amide type local anesthetics or
  • any ingredients in the anesthetic solution.
  • 2\) Concomitant cardiac or neurological disease.
  • 3\) Pregnancy / lactation.
  • 4\) Concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants,
  • phenothiazine, vasodepressor drugs or ergot type oxytocic drugs.
  • 5\) Subjects who were on sedatives.
  • 6\) Subjects who had taken aspirin, acetaminophen, NSAIDS 24 hours prior to administration
  • of local anesthetic.
  • 7\) Inability to give Informed consent.
