A clinical evaluation of Anti obesity(sthoulyahara) action of Triphala Madhupaka

Ayurveda recommended intake of food articles that which maintain the health and prevent un manifested diseases. An ancient balanced diet consists of food articles which are listed in Nithyasevaniyaahara. Madhu is one among the nithyasevaniyaahara. It has medohara and lakshanas effect when it is one year old. Obesityis a medical condition in which excess body fat accumulates to an extent that it may have a negative effect on health. Obesity increases the likely hood of various diseases, particularly heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. Obesity is most commonly caused by a combination of excessive food intake, lack of physical activity, and genetic susceptibility.Worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975.In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults, 18 years and older, were overweight Of these over 650 million were obese.39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight in 2016, and 13% were obese. Most of the world’s  population in countries where overweight and obesity kills more people than underweight. Ayurveda emphasizes the use of Purana Madhu as a nutritional therapy in Sthoulya. Triphala is another drug used in combination for the same. Triphala Madhupaka is experimentally analysed for its, in-vitro anti-obese action and found to be safe for oral consumption. But it is not clinically proven hence, in this study Triphala Madhupaka will be used to assess its anti-obese action..
