简要总结
Introduction: Alcoholism is a severe public health issue that impacts multiple dimensions of society. In this scenario, the Motivational Nursing Consultation (CEM) emerges as an approach that integrates Motivational Interviewing (MI) into the Nursing Process to evoke motivation and promote patient decision-making. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of Motivational Nursing Consultation (CEM) in changing the behavior of alcoholics in a specialized outpatient clinic of a university hospital. Methods: A quantitative, clinical, longitudinal, and pre-experimental study conducted with 21 alcoholics who participated in five Motivational Nursing Consultation (CEM) sessions over a 90-day period. Data collection occurred at three points time using a sociodemographic questionnaire and validated instruments: DASS-21, SADD, EMP, and consumption pattern (adapted from FORM-90-AQ). Data were analyzed using a paired t-test and effect size calculation. Results: There was a statistically significant reduction in alcohol drinking days and heavy drinking days at intervals of 7, 15, and 30 days (p<0.001) between the beginning and the end of the intervention. A significant reduction was also observed in stress and depression symptoms (DASS-21), a decrease in the dependence level score (SADD), and an increase in the Perceived Change scale (EMP). Conclusion: The Motivational Nursing Consultation proved to be effective in changing the behavior of alcoholics after a 90-day follow-up, benefiting consumption patterns, alleviating emotional symptoms, and favoring comprehensive person-centered care.

入选标准
- •People aged 18 or older; have self-reported episode of alcohol consumption within the last 30 days; be under medical follow-up at the Outpatient Alcoholism Program (PAA); be available to participate in five Motivational Nursing Consultations (CEM), within a 90-day interval
排除标准
- •Present visible difficulty to understand and express oneself as a result of alcohol consumption or self-reported or recorded cognitive neurological sequelae in an online medical record; severe psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia or psychotic disorder; refusal to answer follow-up questionnaires; inability to attend five Motivational Nursing Consultations (CEM), within a 90-day interval. To avoid a measurement bias, participants with ongoing hospitalization, after the start of the research, did not have their data included for analysis, as the consumption pattern may have been influenced by the hospitalization event rather than by the offer of the Motivational Nursing Consultations (CEM), as they were in a secluded environment
研究组 & 干预措施
This is a quantitative, analytical, clinical, pre-experimental, and longitudinal study, with variables measured at three different time points. The intervention under study is the Motivational Nursing Consultation and its effectiveness in changing the behavior of alcoholics regarding alcohol consumption. The time points for questionnaire application are as follows: Time 0 (before the first Motivational Nursing Consultation), Time 1 (on the day of the third Motivational Nursing Consultation), and Time 2 (after four or five Motivational Nursing Consultations). The study consistently sought a uniformity of two to three Motivational Nursing Consultations within the first 45 days after the initial consultation, and four to five Motivational Nursing Consultations within a 90-day follow-up period from the first meeting. Fifty-five users were referred; of these, 39 met the inclusion criteria and attended the first Motivational Nursing Consultation. Data from 21 participants were analyzed, as they completed the five Motivational Nursing Consultations within 90 days and demonstrated consistency in the collected data to enable longitudinal analysis. There was no control group and no blinding
