Surgery for newly diagnosed primary brain tumors in supratentorial area with
tumor size >3 cm
ASA 1,2
GCS 14-15
Exclusion criteria:
Ã? GCS
GCS <13
ASA 3&4
Recurrent tumors.
Presence of significant co morbidities like diabetes, hypertension, liver disease,
ischemic heart disease, stroke, chronic renal disease etc which are known to affect the
coagulation system.
Patients on chronic anti platelet or anticoagulant therapy.
Patients on OCPs.
Patients with other hematological disorders.
Also excluded will be patients who have had massive blood loss and transfusion,
prolonged preoperative immobility, patients requiring mechanical ventilation and
prolonged immobilization post operatively.
Post operative re exploration.
