Inclusion Criteria

1. Low back ache for more than 3 months with or without radiation to leg

2. Numerical rating scale (NRS) for pain greater than 4 on 11 point scale

3. 3 out of 6 provocative tests for SIJ pain must be positive. These include: FABER, Ganslenâ??s test, sacral thrust, SIJ compression, distraction and thigh thrust test

4. A positive response to diagnostic intra articular SIJ injection with local anesthetic. Patient must report pain relief more than 75% on NRS scale

Exclusion Criteria

Patient refusal

Focal neurological signs or neuropathic pain

Other cause of low back ache â?? radiculopathy, facet joint pain

Allergy to contrast or local anesthetics

Previous history of intervention for SIJ pain

Pregnant patients

Patients with inflammatory arthritis â?? ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis

Bleeding or coagulation disorders

Opioid addiction of psychiatric disorders
