Singleton pregnancy
Term pregnancy
Vertex presentation with anterior occiput position
Residence of Ahvaz
Persian language
Exclusion Criteria
Prolonged rapture of membranes
Severe anaemia, Diabetes mellitus
Operative vaginal delivery
Epidural analgesia
smoking
Third- and fourth-degree perineal tears
Prolonged second stage of labour
Systemic disease
Use of corticosteroid or immunosuppressant medications
