Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • All patients more than 18 years of age with intercostal drain for chest trauma

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients with preexisting lung pathology
  • Other preexisting chronic painful conditions (E.g. malignancy, chronic pancreatitis, etc.)
  • Patients with GCS less than 15
  • Contraindications to intrapleural block
  • â?? Allergy to local anaesthetic
  • â?? Extensive block site infection
  • â?? Emphysema
  • â?? Bullous lung disease
  • â?? Recent pleural disease or pleurodesis
  • â?? Empyema
