•Age group: 20- 40 years
•Female patients with clinical diagnosis of melasma
•Patients who have not received any prior medical treatment for melasma or with a wash out period of 4 weeks.
•Age group < 20 years and > 40 years
•Pregnant or lactating females
•Patients on medications like oral contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy in the last three months
•Patients with systemic or endocrinological disorder like thyroid disease

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method The number of patients who had complete or near complete clearance of pigmentation <br/ ><br>The rate at which pigment clearance occurs <br/ ><br>Melanin index <br/ ><br>MASI score <br/ ><br>Adverse reactions <br/ ><br>Duration of response <br/ ><br>Timepoint: During the treatment ( initial 12 weeks) all the parameters will be assessed weekly followed by monthly assessment during the follow-up period of 3 months
