Inclusion Criteria

•Age group: 20- 40 years

•Female patients with clinical diagnosis of melasma

•Patients who have not received any prior medical treatment for melasma or with a wash out period of 4 weeks.

Exclusion Criteria

•Age group < 20 years and > 40 years

•Pregnant or lactating females

•Patients on medications like oral contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy in the last three months

•Patients with systemic or endocrinological disorder like thyroid disease

The number of patients who had complete or near complete clearance of pigmentation <br/ ><br>The rate at which pigment clearance occurs <br/ ><br>Melanin index <br/ ><br>MASI score <br/ ><br>Adverse reactions <br/ ><br>Duration of response <br/ ><br>Timepoint: During the treatment ( initial 12 weeks) all the parameters will be assessed weekly followed by monthly assessment during the follow-up period of 3 months
