Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\.Patients with depression and periodontitis.
- •2\.Patient should have minimum 20 teeth other than third molars.
- •Periodontitis criteria
- •Stage 1 and 2 generalized Periodontitis patients as per the 2017 periodontitis classification
- •Depression criteria
- •Diagnosis of depression will be made using ICD\-10 criteria,
- •In typical depressive episodes of all three varieties
- •a.(mild (F32\.0\),
- •b.moderate (F32\.1\), and
- •c.severe (F32\.2 and F32\.3\)
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\.History of systemic disease or condition that is reported to be associated with periodontal disease, including diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic renal failure, cardiovascular disease, and pregnancy.
- •2\.Treatment with the following drugs in the previous 3 months: antibiotics, anti\-inflammatories, steroids, immunosuppressants, lipid\-lowering drugs, anticoagulants, bisphosphonates, and host modulatory drugs.
- •3\.Patients on anyantidepressant medication besides Paroxetine andFluoxetine.
- •4\.Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment (non\-surgical or surgical) 6 months prior to the study
