1.Female aged 18-35 year
2.Non-pregnant, non-lactating
3.If iron deficient (Serum Ferritin less than 15 microg/L) or iron depleted (Serum Ferritin less than 20 microg/L along with Zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP) more than 40 millimol/mol heme, or transferrin receptor (TfR) more than 8.1 mg/L)
1.Severe anemia (Hb 8g/dL)
2.Pregnant, lactating or those who get pregnant during the course of the study
3.Elevated serum CRP (10 mg/L)
4.Need for any chronic prescription or over-the-counter
medication except birth control pills
