- Brief Summary
Application of mouthwash containing Cibotium barometz J. Smith extract significantly decreased clinical values in all indicators of oral microbes, O’Leary index, PI, and GI (p<0.05). In addition, after gargling with a mouthwash containing Cibotium barometz J. Smith extract, the antibacterial action on Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria that cause oral disease showed an excellent clinical effect in inhibiting, preventing, and treating oral diseases. The use of the mouthwash containing Cibotium barometz J. Smith extract was found to be effective for oral desease related indicators and bacteria causing oral disease. In addition, it was confirmed that the oral environment was improved as a result of saliva analysis and halitosis measurement. Therefore, using a mouthwash containing Cibotium barometz J. Smith extract, a natural drug, will possibly maintain healthy oral health by inhibiting and preventing the progression of oral disease.
