This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Programme in improving suicide prevention competencies among nursing students at AIIMS Bibinagar. A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design will be used with 150 participants. The intervention consists of structured training sessions based on the NIMHANS model, focusing on knowledge of suicide, recognition of warning signs, and practical skills in early intervention and referral. Outcomes will be measured using the Literacy of Suicide Scale and Gatekeeper Behaviour Scale at baseline, immediately after training, and at follow-up intervals to assess both immediate and sustained improvements in competencies.
