• Be motivated to engage in a more active healthy lifestyle;
• Have access to internet at home;
• Have a sedentary lifestyle;
• May have one or more of the following characteristics:
o Overweight/obese (BMI >23 kg/m2)
o Mild Hypertension ( <160/100) (either treatment naïve or on stable anti-hypertensive treatment)
o Deranged lipid profile (defined as LDL-C >100 mg/dL or HDL-C <40 mg/dL in men and <50 mg/dL in women or serum triglycerides >150 mg/dL) (either treatment naïve or on stable anti-hypertensive treatment)
• Own smart phone (iOS or Android) with BlueToothLowEnergy
•A Prior history of diabetes (Type I or II) ;
•Use of blood glucose lowering medication;
•Have a physical condition that inhibits an increase in physical activity;
•A prior history of cardiovascular disease (defined as: prior MI, PTCA with intervention, CABG);
•LDL-C >190 mg/dl
•Pregnancy or breast feeding;
•History of disordered eating; including bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa;
•A BMI lower than 18;
•A BMI higher than 40 ;
•BP >160/100, with or without prior treatment
•already participating in another scientific study.
