- •Patients undergoing awake laryngopharyngeal procedures in the office requiring topical anaesthesia
- •Age >18 years
- •Ability to give informed consent

- •Age <18 yrs
- •Preexisting increased risk of bleeding or thrombosis
- •Coagulation disorders
- •Renal disease
- •Hepatic disease
- •Pre-exisiting cardiac conduction abnormality
- •Inability to provide informed consent
- •Allergy to lidocaine
