1)Patients suffering from chronic periodontitis.
2)Patients between age group 30-60 years.
3)Probing pocket depth >=5mm.
4)Clinical attachment loss >=3mm.
5)Number of remaining teeth >=20 excluding third molars.
6)Systemically healthy patients.
7)Patients with no history of allergy to drugs used or prescribed inthis study.
1)History of underlying systemic disease.
2)Pregnant and lactating females.
3)Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment within a period of 6 months.
4)Under antibiotic/NSAIDS treatment during past 6 months.
5)Patients with plaque index > 1 and who donâ??t follow oral hygiene instructions after phase I therapy.
6)Patients on steroid therapy and oral contraceptives.
7)History of tobacco chewing and current or former smoker.
8)Patients who did not accept terms and conditions of the study.
