Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patient of either sex of ASA grade 1, 2 and 3
  • 2\.Age above 18 years
  • 3\.Elective surgeries under general anaesthesia with endotracheal tube intubation
  • 4\. Mallampati classification grade 1 and 2

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Patient of ASA grade 4 or above
  • 2\.Age less than 18 years.
  • 3\.Patients who are already taking steroid medication.
  • 4\.Patients requiring Ryle’s tube insertion.
  • 5\.Procedures taking place in a prone position.
  • 6\. Patients with anticipated difficult intubation or with risk of aspiration of gastric contents and those who required more than 2 attempts at Direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal tube intubation
  • 7\.patients with either history of or those undergoing oral and pharyngo \- laryngeal surgeries
  • 8\.Patient refusal to give consent
  • 9\.People with existing upper respiratory tract infections and cough, sore throat.
  • 10\.Surgery lasting more than 3 hrs.
