Comparison of the effectiveness of the nasal intubation by the GlideScope with Magill forceps and Vascular forceps in normal airway patients

简要总结
This study demonstrates that total intubation time was significantly lower with use of a tube exchanger and vascular forceps (group V) than it was with Magill forceps (group M). The incidence of epistaxis was also significantly lower in group V than it was in group M. Therefore, nasotracheal intubation using a tube exchanger and vascular forceps offers advantages over the Magill forceps when a GlideScope is used.

- •60 patients, 18-65 years, american society of anesthesiologist physical status I, II who were arranged for elective surgeries
排除标准
- •Exclusion criteria included: history of difficult intubation, larynx surgery, larynx radiotherapy, patients expected to have esophago-tracheal reflux; patients with a loose tooth; patients with a Mallampati classification of III or IV; current tracheal-, respiratory- or cardiovascular disease; patients with frequent episode of epistaxis, bleeding tendency, a body mass index (BMI) >= 35 kg/m2.
