Immediate effects of combined hamstring dynamic or static stretching with foam rolling and eccentric exercise on fascicle length, flexibility, muscle oxygenation, muscular function in young males with hamstrings tightness

Phase 1
Completed
Conditions
healthy young males
extensibility, eccentric, stretching exercise, musculotendinous stiffness, foam rolling
Registration Number
TCTR20230825003
Lead Sponsor
The Allied Health Sciences Research Fund
Brief Summary

In conclusion, substantial and similar immediate increases in hamstring flexibility, coupled with reduced isometric torque following various exercises, were accompanied by condition-specific alterations in fascicle length, MTU stiffness, or SmO2. These findings provide practical insights for acutely enhancing range of motion in individuals with tight hamstrings.
