Inclusion Criteria
Patients with NTDT, aged older than 10 years, with serum ferritin >300 ng/mL. All patients and/or parents provided written consent before the enrollment.
Exclusion Criteria
Known cases of type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus and patients, taking medications affecting glucose metabolism or iron chelation therapy within one month before the study, were excluded.
