Effect of Rescuer Position Standing vs. Step Stool vs. Kneeling on Chest Compression Quality in Adult and Paediatric ICU Settings

Study Overview
Brief Summary
This study will evaluate how rescuer position affects chest compression quality during simulated CPR in ICU settings.
It is a prospective randomized three arm crossover simulation study conducted in PICU and simulation lab.
Healthcare staff with valid BCLS training will participate after informed consent.
Each participant will perform two minute CPR cycles in three positions standing on floor standing on step stool and kneeling on bed.
A ten minute rest period between cycles will reduce fatigue and carryover effect.
Objective CPR metrics including compression depth rate recoil and duty cycle will be recorded using mannequin feedback.
Subjective outcomes such as comfort stability and fatigue will be measured using visual analog scales.
The primary outcome is comparison of compression depth across the three rescuer positions.
Secondary outcomes include compression rate recoil and ergonomic perception scores.
The study aims to identify the most effective and ergonomic position for improving CPR quality in Indian ICU practice.

Inclusion Criteria
- •Healthcare personnel (Doctors, Nurses, Technicians).
- •Valid BCLS certification.
- •Willingness to participate.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Acute or chronic back pain.
- •Knee injuries or musculoskeletal limitations.
- •Refusal to consent.
