•1)Patients Aged 35 - 44 years
•2)AAP 1999 criteria will be followed for diagnosis of chronic periodontitis patients
•3)Patient having with bilateral periodontal destruction in mandibular posterior segment (involving minimum 3 teeth).
•4)Periodontal destruction manifesting in form of moderate periodontal pockets (5-6mm) with clinical attachment loss.

•2)Pregnancy or use of hormone contraceptives
•3)Systemic condition / disease/ any medication having influence on the course of periodontal disease and therapy
•4)Patients with history of use of antibiotics within the last 6 months and use of anti-inflammatory drugs within the last 3 months
•5)Patients with history of periodontal treatment in the last year
•6)Sites with gingival recession / pseudo periodontal pockets / advanced periodontal destruction with intra bony defects/ mobility
•7)Teeth with restorations, endodontic lesions
•8)Patients who are known hypersensitive for PDT dye
•9)Patients contraindicated for laser intervention
