Inclusion Criteria
Respiratory rate >30/minute on room air
AND
spO2 <90% on room air OR P/F <300
AND
Active use of accessory muscles of respiration
Exclusion Criteria
Patients who are not consenting to the study
Patients requiring IPPV immediately or within 1 hour of NIV therapy
Patients with underlying ILD
Patients with chest wall deformities
Patients presenting with trauma
Patients with history of diaphragm/thoracic surgery
Pregnant women
Patients using NIV/BIPAP at home
