Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Respiratory rate \>30/minute on room air
- •spO2 \<90% on room air OR P/F \<300
- •Active use of accessory muscles of respiration
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients who are not consenting to the study
- •Patients requiring IPPV immediately or within 1 hour of NIV therapy
- •Patients with underlying ILD
- •Patients with chest wall deformities
- •Patients presenting with trauma
- •Patients with history of diaphragm/thoracic surgery
- •Pregnant women
- •Patients using NIV/BIPAP at home
