Inclusion Criteria
Pediatric patients of either gender aged between one day to 12 years belonging to ASA grade I â?? III undergoing elective cardiac surgery for congenital cardiac disease will be included in this study
Exclusion Criteria
1. Patients with diabetes, sepsis and metabolic diseases
2. Patients on ventilatory support
3. Patients on corticosteroid therapy
4. Patients who will not comply to the fasting instructions
