Inclusion Criteria
• Visit of a GP's practice with planned personal contact with the GP
• Sufficient knowledge of the German language
• Written and verbal consent to participate in the study
Exclusion Criteria
• Patient not capable of giving consent
• Already diagnosed disease associated with severe cognitive impairment (e.g. dementia)
• Patient does not have sufficient knowledge of the German language

Name Time Method 1. Investigation of the criterion validity of the new questionnaire for the assessment of depression symptoms in general practices (DESY): Examination the diagnostic accuracy of the new questionnaire using SCID interviews as reference standard.<br>2. Comparison of the performance (diagnostic accuracy) of the PHQ-9 with the DESY.<br>3. Investigation of the factorial validity of the DESY.

Comparison of the GP diagnosis with the reason for the encounter given by the patients.
