Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • All patients between the ages of 18 and 60 , of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical class I and II, undergoing elective surgery and in whom propofol based induction is planned.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Patients with severe hypotension
  • 2\. Patients planned for rapid sequence intubation, pregnant patients
  • 3\. Patients requiring IV sedation/opiods before surgery ( eg. cardiovascular co\-morbidities)
  • 4\. Patients with difficult venous access, thin calibre veins.
  • 5\. Patients with known allergy to egg proteins
