Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Adult patients (aged between 18 \& 65 y) of either sex and ASA PS I to III undergoing emergency laparotomy for proven or clinically suspected peritonitis under general anaesthesia will be recruited in this study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •I.Patientsâ?? refusal
  • •II.History of any previous neck surgery or trauma
  • •III.Pregnancy
  • •IV.American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status III\- V
  • •V.History of peripheral arterial diseases/ atherosclerosis
  • •VI.BMI \> 30kg/m2
  • •VII.Any cardiac rhythm other than sinus
  • •VIII.Cardiomyopathy
  • •IX.Hemodynamically unstable patients/ patients requiring inotropic and/ or vasopressors.
