Tumours of proximal stomach (gastro oesophageal junction tumour type III & proximal stomach adenocarcinoma) and linitisplastica
Documented diagnosis by preoperative biopsy.
Surgery for curative intent ( D2 Radical total gastrectomy)
Absence of distant lymphatic spread (beyond station 12 lymph nodes).
Gastric cancer requiring pancreatectomy or splenectomy due to direct invasion.
Gastrectomy as part of multi-visceral resection for another primary disease.
Patients who canâ??t tolerate the major procedure.
