The eligible patients were aged =18 years with pathologically confirmed breast, lung, or head and neck cancer of any stage, and scheduled to receive RT for =4 weeks.
The exclusion criteria were prior RT or serious lesions on the skin in the treatment area, poor Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status score (>2), pregnancy or lactation, severe or uncontrolled systemic disease or infection, known allergy or hypersensitivity to gels, significant psychiatric disturbance, drug addiction, or alcohol dependence.
