Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
To compare the analgesic effect provided by femoral nerve block and intravenous fentanyl by assessing

1. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)Score.

2. Time taken to achieve subarachnoid block.

3. Quality of positioning.

4. Patients acceptance.

5. Number of additional doses of fentanyl during positioning for subarachnoid block.Timepoint: To compare the analgesic effect provided by femoral nerve block and intravenous fentanyl by assessing

1. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)Score - to be seen before analgesia, 10min after analgesia and during positioning.

2. Time taken to achieve subarachnoid block.

3. Quality of positioning during positioning for sub arachnoid block.

4. Patients acceptance during positioning for sub arachnoid block.

5. Number of additional doses of fentanyl during positioning for subarachnoid block.
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
1. Sedation score

2. Hemodynamic changes like heart rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure.

3. Complications, if any.Timepoint: Sedation score following subarachnoid block and after 30 minutes.

Hemodynamic changes before analgesia, 10 minutes after analgesia, during positioning and 1 min, 3min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 60 min, 75 min and 90 min after subarachnoid block

Complications postoperatively.
