- Brief Summary
Ankylosing spondylitis is achronic inflammatory disorder that primarily involves the sacroiliac joints and the axial skeleton. There is also a variableinvolvement of peripheral joints and articular structures. Musculoskeletal pain, stiffness. Rukshachurna pinda sweda, virechana and yoga basti followed by internal medicine asgandharvahastadi kwatha and Trayodashanga guggulu may be beneficial to managepain in Ankylosing spondylitis. To reducethe other symptoms like stiffness, fatigue it al so may be seen helpful. This isthe preliminary study to make an attempt by including 15 patients from OPD ofAll india institute of Ayurveda New delhi. Total no of trial days 90days. Assessmentwill be done by BASFI, BAS-G, BASDI, BASMI.

Diagnosed case of Ankylosing spondylitis.
- Chronicity of more than 5 yrs.
- Severely deformed joints.
- Cardiac disease, pulmonary tuberculosis, severe lung disease, diabetes and pregnant women.
- Patients unfit for Snehana, Svedana, Virechana and Basti Karma.

Name Time Method Reduction in pain. after rookshana(7th day), after virechana(21thday), after yoga basti(30th day), after internal medication(60th day), after rest periiod(90th day)
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Overall improvement in quality of life. Assesment will be taken on first day before start panchakarma, after rukshana, after virechana along with samsarjan karma, after yoga basti, after samana medicine on 60days, after rest period on 90days.
